FOUNDATION YEAR

The Southside Rides Foundation opened its doors in May of 2005 at 2221 Hope Street in Winston Salem, NC. The facility continues to serve as a training center and auto body repair shop for the post-incarcerated and at-risk population to learn and be trained in auto body repair.

The program “Project Moore” (Mentoring Our Own & Rejuvenating the Environment) teaches its students self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship in the auto body industry.

THE PROGRAM

It is to rehabilitate the post-incarcerated and at-risk population back into society by providing them with the skills they need to open their own repair shops or get a job in the bodywork field once the program ends.

NEW LOCATION

This program has served 50-80 participants each year. Recently, SSR has opened a second location in Charlotte, NC located at 2846 Freedom Drive.
